I took these pictures back when Ellie was 5 weeks old. Madeline is almost 3 here. She’s now a big sister. And she’s now having to share my attention. When Ellie was first born, Madeline wasn’t showing too much jealousy, but she ALWAYS wanted ALL of us to be together. She would break down and cry if just she and Daddy were going somewhere, or if just the 3 of us girls were going and not Daddy. She would burst into tears at some silly things. She also became a terrible sleeper. It would take her forever to fall asleep and then she’d wake up once or twice at night, and then wake up really early. It was rough, especially since I was waking up with Ellie. Nathan would get up and tend to Madeline, so I could tend to Ellie. But it’s tough when we are both tired. And Nathan actually has to use his brain during the day. Madeline hasn’t ever shown any resentment towards Ellie. She has adjusted surprisingly well, but seems to let it all out at night. Maybe she processes things at night. There’s no doubt Madeline loves her little sister Ellie and enjoys being a big sister and a big helper.
This is an “M” that Daddy bought for Madeline at the store and she painted and put sparkles all over it. I didn’t know what to do with it, so we took pictures with it and then got rid of it.
