We Still <3 Utah

… even though we don’t care to live there. It is a blast to visit. Nathan and I were writing out all the things we wanted to do while we were there, people we wanted to see, and places we wanted to EAT . . . We probably had more places we wanted to eat than people we wanted to see. Utah really does have some amazing restaurants. Tucano’s, Zupas, Cafe Rio, Guru’s, Kneader’s, Magleby’s Fresh, just to name a few. The list goes on and on. We were unable to make it to all of our favorites. I guess we’ll just have to plan another trip out soon.

This is another blog post filled with pictures. I know people like looking at pictures more than they like reading words. So here is our trip to Utah in pictures:

Jessica and Casey were wonderful hosts and so kind to let us stay with them. Also, thank you for getting us hooked on the Kinect! Another thank you to Joy and Pace for letting us use their car while we were there!

We stopped for a visit with my old mentee, Kesha and her little brother.

We got to take Charlotte out for the day. She enjoyed every minute of being spoiled and being an only child. We got her a ladybug pillow pet for her birthday, but then she saw a purple and pink unicorn on the tag and said she wanted that one instead. We took her with us back to the store to switch it out and make sure that was the one she really wanted. And it definitely was. Now she can’t go anywhere without it. Sorry Joy! 🙂

We went out on a group date with my favorite girls and their husband/boyfriend. Nathan was such a good sport for enduring more girl talk. But luckily the boys got along and had a good time together too. We ate at delicious Texas Roadhouse and got a fantastic deal because their computers were messed up and they kept bringing us the wrong orders. We were okay with that! Then we went back to Lauren and Trent’s place for some Wii Dance. I was terrible and Nathan rocked it. All he did was move his arm and sensor. But I was actually dancing and still lost.

I am salivating just looking at this picture. I crave these blueberry pancakes daily. We had to make a stop at Guru’s for their delicious breakfast.

I was verrrrrrrrrrry happy after an amazing morning breakfast.

These two are the whole reason why we flew out to Utah. Congrats to Mr. and Mrs. Gabe Briggs!!

Here we are, trying to endure the freezing cold while they snapped a few pictures. Poor Mary wasn’t wearing a coat or sleeve of any kind.

All sealed in the temple with our eternal companion. So so great.

Houghton/Briggs Reception

Awwwww <3

Their reception was such a blast, it was like a Bennett Valley reunion.

After the reception, we went out with Nathan’s friend Eric and his wife Holly. Those two are hysterical together. They have the best missionary stories ever. Hilarious.

Another night, Laura and her boyfriend Bill came over to JP’s place while we were babysitting the cutest kids in the world, and they brought us Cafe Rio. Woohoo! Then the boys played COD while the girls played a board game. It was so fun.

My absolute favorite little boy ever. I miss him so much!

Ohh . . . yeah, we ended up getting him a pillow pet too because we felt bad that only Charlotte got one. Look at that sweet face!

It was such a wonderful trip and I wish it could have been longer. I miss everyone out in Utah and of course, the good food. Thanks for the good time everyone!

(p.s. it has been 65-70 beautiful degrees here in the Bay Area. In case you wanted to know)
