My very dear friend, Ashley, was so wonderful to come to the hospital early in the morning to take pictures of our sweet new baby, Ellie, and to capture the moment when big sister Madeline met her little sister. I knew it would be a special moment and I wanted to be able to focus on that, than trying to take pictures myself or have Nathan do it. So Ashley was gracious enough to come and capture the moment for us. There were so many amazing pictures, I had a hard time choosing which were my favorite. So there are a lot on here. I love love them. They are priceless.
Kaiser hospitals now don’t wash the baby until 8 or more hours after the baby is born. I don’t really remember the reason why, but it was great that she was there to take a picture of Ellie’s first bath. She clearly didn’t like it!
Madeline’s arrival to the hospital. Grandma Donna spent the night with Madeline and got her ready and drove her up to the hospital.
I had Ellie in the basket next to me when Madeline walked in. I was so excited to see my big girl. I missed her so so so much for the 24 hours we were apart.
Madeline’s first time holding Ellie.
That face… that face was exactly what I wanted captured and Ashley did it. That face has so much love and excitement. This is her own baby sister and she’s finally here and she finally gets to hold her. I love Madeline’s “I want to smile so big right now, but I’m trying to contain it” smile.
