4 Months

Madeline Mae is 4 months old!

Height- 26.5 inches
Weight- 16 lbs 9 oz

This girl has some very active legs! She can even hold her body up with them. I think she just might skip rolling over and crawling and go straight to walking.

She’s taken to the pacifier.

She’s doing a good job grabbing objects. We don’t have to place them in her hands anymore, now she reaches out and grabs them.

She is such a curious little girl. She has this new thing where she arches her back and moves her head back so she can see all around her. It’s funny, but sometimes annoying. She also likes to be facing out or up high enough when you hold her so she can look out.

She is still babbling SO much! We love it. She just talks and talks and explores with those vocal chords.

She’s beginning to grow out of her 6 mos clothes now.

We finally got out the bumbo for her sit in, but she’s almost outgrown it! Her whole bum fills the seat and those thighs have a hard time fitting through the tiny hole openings. Why did they make them in a C shape instead of a U shape? Do they think babies have skinny thighs? I’m super bummed about her not fitting so well in it cause she loved sitting up on her own. This is one of my all time favorite pictures of her.

I started work again this week. It was hard, but not as hard as I thought. I felt so sick to my stomach about leaving her for so long. I knew she would be in good hands, but it was just being away from her for so long that made me feel sick. I cried on the first day as I left her, but then I was okay. It really helped that I was only working a half day. It made going into it much more bearable! And I figured she would be sleeping all morning so I wouldn’t miss too much. I’m not thrilled about starting up a full day, but at least I can ease into being away. I just can’t imagine going back to work after 6-8 weeks and working 5 days all day. I would have been a complete mess.

We love this sweet, fun, happy, well-fed, curious girl of ours.
