I have now been a licensed dental hygienist in California for one year. All I have so far is a two days a week job and random jobs here and there. It’s extremely discouraging trying to find any type of work around here. I went out again today to pass out resumes. More discouragement with every “No we are not looking, but maybe if we need a temp.” No, I don’t really wanna temp. I want a JOB. That is permanent. Is that too much to ask? Yes. I’m just so tired of looking.
I absolutely love the office I currently work and they are trying to work in a 3rd day for me. That would be wonderful! I have now been working there for 6 months! Yay! It’s such a blast seeing patients I know and catching up. I love it when they tell me that they listened to what I told them and that they’ve been flossing every day. Makes my heart melt.
I love my job. I’m just feeling stressed/discouraged that I can’t find more of it.

Argh, I’m sorry. That is lame, in addition to the house hunting saga! Job & house hunting at the same time! no good at all. I know what Mom will say: “There are tons of jobs up here! Come live by me! Or even better, WITH me!” 🙂

dude, i feel you!! The city I’m at in GA has SO MANY hygienist. It’s been over a year and the only thing I have permanent is once a month! I have spurts of temp jobs but it’s pretty inconsistent. I’m discouraged too…I mean, how in the heck am I going to pay off these loans?!?!?
Looks like more beatin’ the streets comin’ up. Maybe where you mentioned in Dublin or Livermore . . . or Santa Rosa! heh heh heh
