I think I’ve only gotten a drink one time at Starbucks ever. Don’t worry, the non-coffee kind. I remember the hot chocolate was amazing. On fb, someone had posted a deal that Starbucks is having this weekend from 2-5 pm, buy one get one free. I thought, oh that might be fun cause it’s raining and cold . . . I went onto their website to look at their drinks. I thought, hmm this Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate sounds fantastic. When you click on it, the Nutrition facts are right there.
Do you see how much SUGAR is in that thing?? And if I had changed the milkfat, there would be more fat. AND if you have it with whipped cream, there is more FAT AND SUGAR. I was just so surprised. People get these things on a regular basis. All of their drinks have a significant amount of sugar and fat. Besides just the plain old nothing added coffee. OUTrageous.
I was pretty bummed because drinks like that are quite enjoyable. But how can you really enjoy it knowing that you are having twice the amount of your daily sugar allowance and 1/4 of your caloric intake? For me, it’s not worth it. Now a candy bar? Perhaps.
