Back in April, Madeline took her very first class. I signed her up to take an art class through our community. It wasn’t exactly what I was picturing, but it was just right for her. Each Friday, we went to her hour long class. She would get so excited to go, and just loved being there. The teacher was a little strange, but very friendly and very hands off (which is Madeline’s style). I pictured it to be more hands on, like, sit here class and watch what I do and then let’s do it all together. But this lady just had 5 or 6 stations, and in the beginning she would show us all what to do, and then let the kids and parents decide what they wanted to do and for how long. Madeline’s favorite was the play doh and the glue and sparkles. One class, she had a huge wall of paper and Madeline colored all over that paper and didn’t want to leave it. And then she was really sad the next week when it wasn’t there. It was in this art class that she used scissors and stamps for the first time. It was overall a fun thing for Madeline, but not worth the money to do it again.
