Madeline’s first plane ride was out to Utah. She did awesome! It couldn’t have gone any better. She fell asleep right as we took off and woke up right as we were landing. The flight home on the other hand… totally different story. But not her fault. She did good under the circumstances and really only fussy cried for about 5 minutes. We boarded the plane and were ready for take off. She was nursing and falling asleep and it was perfect. I thought, yes! Another smooth flight. But no. We ended up being delayed 2 hours because they heard a rattle on the plane. We all had to deboard and then reboard. There was just no hope for this little one. She was beyond the point of exhaustion and was getting frustrated AND it was SOOOO HOT on that plane. There was a smidgen of air coming out and we were like, what the heck?? Turn on the AC!!! We asked the flight attendants and they said they have to ask the captains but they can’t do that until we reach a certain level. So after being so frustrated about it being so hot and stuffy, come to find out that the issue with the plane was that the AC was not working and they were flying the plane to Oakland to have it fixed. But they failed to mention that to the flight attendants and the passengers. It was so miserable. I felt so claustrophobic and was craving some cool, fresh air. Poor madeline was stripped down to her onesie and was so flushed. But it all worked out in our favor after Nathan called to complain about our flight and we were reimbursed and given vouchers.
