6 Months

I tried so hard to get a picture of her not sucking  on her lower lip, but it was tough! She is always sucking on that lip, it’s so funny. This beautiful girl is 6 months old! (last wednesday). I just can’t believe she’s half a year old! We are just absolutely smitten by this perfect little girl. She is usually very even tempered and happy. Always looking at the environment around her and taking it all in. When she wakes up in the morning she just lays there and babbles. She is taking 3 naps a day, usually awake for about 2 hours at a time. Her eyes open wide as soon as I lay her down for a nap. So usually I end up just holding her for the entire nap. And then nothing gets done around the house. She is great at entertaining herself, so when she’s awake is usually when I can get things done around the house. She’s also usually just content watching whatever I’m doing, but needs something in her/mouth. She coughs a lot for attention. She loves standing on those sturdy legs of hers and bouncing up and down. She is so good at sitting up all on her own. She will occasionally topple over. She is still showing no interest in rolling over. She is not the best sleeper. She wakes 2-4 times at night and is still not in her crib in her own room. I’m getting frustrated cause she can’t seem to sleep with a swaddle nor can she sleep without it. I’ve tried doing one arm in and one arm out, but that one arm out just goes flailing and she doesn’t sleep. She’s eating solid foods!! We have given her whole grain rice cereal and she loves it. Naturally, this girl is a good eater. She is anxious for every bite, leaning forward with her mouth open. We’ll introduce some veggies this weekend. Grandma Jean and Grandma Donna are such great babysitters. Madeline is loving the undivided attention she gets from them every week.

Weight at 6 month check up (2 weeks ago): 18 lbs 9 oz
