(I started this blog post a long time ago and I’m just now finishing it and posting it… whoops!)
A few weeks back we had our big ultrasound where they viewed every single part of our little one’s body. Including our baby’s privates. We got to find out if we were having a BOY or a GIRL… I was so nervous for some reason! We really didn’t care one way or another, but I just felt jittery about it. Nathan felt it was a girl and I thought it was a boy the whole time. And guess what… as usual, Nathan was right. We’re having a GIRL!! We found out on a Friday, and had decided to tell our families and close friends the next day with a little bbq and big reveal. It was torture waiting a day to tell! I just wanted to shout it out and tell everyone who walked by us. I was so excited and happy!
(My dear friend Ashley took all of these amazing pictures.)
We all met up at a little park close to our house. Nathan manned the grill while I set up and socialized. We had everybody write down their guesses… about half and half.
Cute daddy passing out the eggs.
This was all Nathan’s clever idea. We wanted to do something fun to “reveal” the gender. We found a lot of fun ideas online, but nothing that seemed that exciting… like open a box and let the blue or pink balloons fly out, or cut a cake and see what color is inside. So Nathan thought up the idea of filling eggs with pink or blue confetti/glitter. Nathan cleared out all the eggs, washed them, and let them dry. Then we dyed them pink and blue. After they were completely dry, we filled them with pink confetti and glitter. It was so messy! Glitter for days. Then we used tissue paper and glued the holes shut. It was way too much work! But it turned out really well.
We had everyone stand around and smash the eggs at the same time. The kids decided to smash them on their heads, while the adults just smashed them with their hands. And look what they found inside!

It’s a GIRL! It was so fun to see everyone’s reaction.
