I Know I’ve Blogged About this Before

but the 3M Headlight Renewal Kit is absolutely amazing. My mom’s minivan is 14 years old and the sun has taken its toll on the headlight lenses. Over time UV rays can cause the lenses to become dull and yellow. As the surface turns opaque the output from a vehicle’s headlights becomes much more diffused. A little sanding and buffing with different grits of sandpaper and polish has the lenses looking like new in no time. Here’s a comparison of an untreated vs treated lens on the same car:

i was just thinking about your cool kit when i saw Kaitlyn Ferguson’s photo on facebook of her old jeep. the car’s headlights are so opaque!

Word. She should have taped some flashlights on her hood. I’d be surprised if any light was able to escape those dingy lenses.

And I was beginning to doubt my night vision while driving those mountain roads. Guess my personal “lenses” are much
better preserved than the car’s headlights! 🙂
